Filipino business-process outsourcing booms in 2013

Filipino business-process outsourcing (BPO) made $13.34B in 2013 export services, an increase of almost $2 billion or 15% over 2012.

Central bank economics director, Zeno Abenoja, also highlighted a very positive structural trend. While BPO activities in the Philippines were historically concentrated on call-center "voice services", there is now a gradual shift toward higher value added segments of the BPO industry like accounting and legal services, transcription, and animation.
