Australia: fit for the Asian Century?

04 June 2014

Will Australia be fit for the Asian Century? No seems to be the clear answer

Australian children are ranked as some of the least active in the world when it comes to physical exertion, according to the recent Active Healthy Kids Australia Report Card which ranks the physical activity of Australian children against 14 other nations.

It found that 80 per cent of children between the ages of five and 17 were not getting daily exercise.

What is the problem?

Not surprisingly, kids are spending too much time in front of their televisions and computers. 80 per cent of Australians aged between 12 and 17 look at screens more than the recommended limit of two hours per day.
